With the Trulaser Cell 7040, TRUMPF will be presenting the larger model of the TruLaser Cell series 7000 at the 2006 EuroBlech trade show. The X axis traverse path of the Trulaser Cell 7040 is 4000 millimeters. The Y axis is designed as an extension arm with a working area of 1500 millimeters. It supports a very lean, compact and fast Z axis with a 750-millimeter working range. Two rotation axes lend it full 3D flexibility. The machine achieves an unusually strong dynamic by means of high operating speeds and axis accelerations of up to 1 g. Lens position and diameter are constant. They facilitate a consistently high processing quality regardless of laser output and component position in the working range.

As a special new feature, the developers at TRUMPF have introduced a processing head with a magnetic clutch. It disengages itself in case of collisions with the workpiece and thus minimizes downtimes. Automatic head identification eliminates operating errors when changing the processing head and makes it possible to replace it quickly.

The suspended, optionally mobile control panel also has a downright user-friendly design. An additional ergonomic teach panel with 6D mouse as well as a portable monitor make simple controlling and teaching the machine possible. Automation options are also important for the user. These also increase productivity. For example, a dual station operation permits simultaneous equipping and processing. Linear and rotation changers are available for simplified handling of work tables and components. Modularity makes simple retrofitting of all automated components possible.

The high dynamics of the TruLaser Cell series 7000 is important for cutting formed sheets, among other things. As an example, the cutting of a passenger car B pillar made of high-strength steel results in a 30 percent savings in processing time.

The compact laser processing cells with minimal space requirements are available with the TRUMPF CO2 laser with laser outputs up to 6 kilowatts for cutting applications and up to 15 kilowatts for welding applications. They can also be used with TRUMPF solid state lasers of up to 8 kilowatts.
