A new circular saw blade for cutting austenitic tubes
The SW WIL engineers have followed new paths on developing the metal circular saw blade Swiss Cut LONGO. By means of a special thermo chemical plasma process a material structure similar to the structure of hard metals is induced in the HSS base material. The technicians of SW WIL named this new layer “ TLL-Layer” – tungsten like layer – because the layer structure offers properties similar to a hard metal layer. The hardness of the layer is about 1300 HV10. Additionally, thanks to a new polishing process this TLL-layer is compressed in a way that the cutting tool life time on cutting austenitic steels has clearly improved. Thanks to the innovations made by SW WIL, you will profit from longer life times and higher productivity.
The new saw blade Swiss Cut LONGO by SW WIL offers the following advantages on cutting austenitic Cr-Ni-steel tubes:
- substantial higher life times, up to 30 – 80 %
- 20 – 30 % higher productivity due to higher cutting speeds
- clearly improved economy.
In comparison to HSS Vapor circular saw blades, the costs per cut are much lower.
- lower machine downtimes due to higher life times.
- Sharpening is possible by conventional sharpening techniques.
The new Swiss Cut LONGO is especially suitable for cutting the following materials:
- DIN 1.4301 / 1.4305 / 1.4435
- AISI 304 / 303 / 316L
