Productivity increase of up to 50 percent

Aktualisiert am: 02.05.2006 19:12
The laser can replace the need for cutting, drilling, milling or punching tubes and pipes. Even more, it facilitates the design and construction of new tubes and pipes, e.g. connectors or assembly tools that can reduce or simplify subsequent work steps. The key to it is the basic tried-and-trusted concept of the TRUMPF TUBEMATIC, which is equipped with TLF lasers between 2 and 3.2 kW.

Faster with better quality
A series of functionalities that have already been successfully used on the TRUMPF laser flatbed machines were enhanced for use on the TUBEMATIC. Digital laser relay control, new technology tables, optimized laser and processing cycles, as well as the new ToPs 400 programming system have resulted in a considerable increase in the processing speed with an improved cutting quality. Furthermore, the opposite tube side is spared from damage. An up to 50 percent productivity increase for the entire manufacturing process is possible. This function is included in the standard scope of delivery for new machines. Along with the development of this function, value has also been placed on updating machines already installed. Customers with machines of up to about four years old can benefit from this productivity increase by updating their machines.

Well-thought out automation
A particular highlight of the TUBEMATIC is its open design with excellent accessibility for loading and unloading. “Rough drafts“ or design tests (which frequently occur in the case of diverse design options) can be performed during serial production – in between, so to speak – without high set-up expenditure.
There are three unloading strategies. Large pipes and tubes can be removed from the brush table gently and without scratches and unloaded during production. Alternatively, the machine unloads parts of up to 300 mm in length into a container using a slide. The remaining tubes are thrown away in the scrap container. The brush table simultaneously functions as a parts buffer. The operator can perform other tasks concurrently to production. For example, filling the bundle during production
Flexible contours for positive connections
The TRUMPF TUBEMATIC can cut round, flat, oval, square and rectangular tubes and profiles as well as special profiles. The maximum tube weight is up to 20 kg per meter – at a maximum length of 6.5 m and 150 mm in diameter. Its workpieces range from low-alloy steels to stainless steels to aluminum alloys.
The laser tube cutting machine is convincing due to its cut-edge quality and precision, and the way it facilitates flexible contour processing. With innovative tube designs, tubes and profiles can be positively connected without positioning help. If the contours are shaped correctly, there is no need for equipment for subsequent welding and time-consuming alignment work. Furthermore, workpieces produced on the TRUMPF TUBEMATIC meet the requirements for stability and aesthetics.
