BLMGROUP : Results 2005, prospects
The consolidated result as of 31.12.2005 of BLMGROUP shows a 15% turnover increase, compared to 2004, and a total amount of € 93.000.000, with 336 employees (+5%).
The growth is due in particularly to an increased export activity of the Group towards European and non-European countries, reaching 70% of the global sales (5% higher compared to 2004). The 2005 turnover was evenly generated by the main export areas: 30% domestic market (Italy), 40% European Countries, 30% extra European countries.
The general positive economic trend leaves unresolved structural issues in the background: an exposed economic growth to international political events and a persisting higher offer of machine tools compared to the actual demand.
Market development: consolidation and expansion
The expected economic growth for the current year, for both domestic and export markets, even though with diversified conditions according to different markets, will keep BLMGROUP’s strategy focused on of favouring the development of growing markets, product innovation and training of human resources.
Product innovation
Most new products were introduced to the market at the end of 2005. The current year will be focused on worldwide marketing activities mainly for:
- The new series of fully electric machines E-TURN, integrating the existing range of electric bending and end-forming machines
- New laser cutting applications on open profiles as well as on tubes
- The new version of the cut-off and end-finishing machine for tubes and bars CM502, widening the range of possible applications and improving performance.
- LT COMBO the new combined laser cutting systems for tube and sheet metal.
These are all important innovations benefiting end users with increased added value, scrap reductions and securing a three-shift production.
R&D e applied research
BLM GROUP innovation continues to be supported by constant investments in R&D (5% of the turnover) for the benefit of projects that involve all of three companies of the Group.
2006 Open House and Seminar program
By the end of the second quarter of 2006 BLMGROUP will organise two extraordinary technological events: one dedicated to new businesses development and the other dedicated to lasertube cutting of pre-formed tubes:

2006 Forecast
The general economic outlook shows a steady growth following a positive second half of 2005. The development rates of major economies allow a positive outlook also for 2006 with an expected minimum turnover growth equal to last year.
